Today is the fifth anniversary of President Bush’s speech declaring a US victory in Iraq. On May 1, 2003, Bush stood on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln under a banner that read “Mission Accomplished.”

President Bush, speaking May 1, 2003: “Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.”

Since those words, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed and injured, while 3,900 US troops have been killed and tens of thousands more wounded. Earlier today, nine Iraqi civilians were killed and another twenty-six injured in a car bombing targeting a US patrol in Baghdad. There are 4 million Iraqi refugees due to the illegal invasion of Iraq. We are more than 9 Trillion Dollars in debt.

Jerry Garcia: "What we're thinking about is a peaceful planet. We're not thinking of anything else. We're not thinking about any kind of power. We're not thinking about any of those kinds of struggles. We're not thinking about revolution or war or any of that. We would all like to be able to live an uncluttered life, a simple life, a good life and think about moving the whole human race ahead a step." -- I couldn't agree more, w/Jerry. -- Monte

Maybe we can hope for a better 4 years in this country. Than again we can hope for a fair election. It saddens me to say that democracy as I knew it when I was a kid(I'm only 25) has changed drastically. Now people are talking of a recession and the lack of the middle class. We are at war, which apparently to some coworkers of mine is ok. They have reasoned it with,
"I feel safe, America hasn't been attacked." I alsmot forgot to mention that the same people that say this have almost forgotten September 11, 2001. They blame Bill Clinton for all of this. In my head that is even crazier. Before 9/11 we were not spying on each other. Now we have our own KGB which is named Homeland Security. Did you know Homeland Security wouldn't allow a toddler on a plane because he had the same name as a terrorist. It was a toddler 3 at the oldest. That kid doesn't know how to blow anything up. I might be naive but I remember when gas prices were 60 cents. I remember those days as well as I remember the "last days" of war in Iraq five years ago. God help America.

the c.i.a. had a operative in Afghanistan trailing bin laden in the late 90's and zeroed him along with three other top leaders of al-Qaeda.the c.i.a. agents along with his afghanistan help called in for an airstrike to take out the
camp but need approval from slick willy who in turned refuse the authorization of the air strike and then goes on worlwide tv and announces that they've been tracking bin laden by his satellite phone(lol..smart move slick willy)old bin hasn't used a satellite phone since.clinton also used the services of the Taliban in the mid 90's to protect some oil pipelines for the various oil companies who had investment in the region.he provided arms and money to the taliban.what does this all mean well if had some balls their wouldn't be no bin laden or Ayman al-Zawahiri.no bush and no war so don't give slick willy a pass.also where was america and the world for that matter when Saddam Hussein wiped out over a 500,000 thousand iraq cilvilians in a three year period in the 90's.you want this war to end then let the military do it's job (which they have while being held back) we haven't lost anything.keep believing the media if you want.god bless the ones who lost their lives.bush is a tool and half of this wouldn't happen if slick willy had some balls.as for the recession you can blame part of that on the mortgage companies who handed out 400 to 500 hundred thousand dollar house mortgages to people who couldn't afford the payments..it's simple if you make 5.15 a hour you can't afford a 500 hundred thousand dollar home.what ever happen to livin within your means.also the millions of non american citizens not paying taxes and draining our school and medical funds each day doesn't help either but hey you sure saved some money by picking up jose at home depot to do your lawn and retile your bathroom.cut your own grass and home depot gives free tile laying classes.americans have become complacent and have no one to blame.take your country back..it's yours.eliminate the federal reserve it's unconstitutional along with the personal income tax.are founding founders did not want this country to be run by the banking system, paper money has no value, never has only gold and silver which was the standard money system in america, you can thank Woodrow Wilson for screwing that up.i could go on but what's the use no one really cares.who's willing to strike the match of revolution it's your right.war sucks and so does bush, clinton, obama and the other wolves in sheeps clothing.

Having behind us the producing masses of this nation and the world, supported by the commercial interests, the laboring interests and the toilers everywhere, we will answer their demand for a gold standard by saying to them: You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.

Revolution is what we need, indeed. Start at the polls. Or - better yet - Get Out Here for the Convention in Denver. Mayor John Hickenlooper is NO Mayor Daley. Let's tell The World --- Americans are really okay people -- or, are They?

McCain - "100 years in Iraq is fine with me." Billary - I won't even go there. Obama - I'm not hearing You. Start with sustainable Life on Earth, and we can go from There.

Like it or Not, regardless - I'm voting for Dennis Kucinich. He was running. Far and Away - Best Candidate. No one would let Him speak. Pundits mocked him. Ralphie (Ralph Nader) - I think may be a thing of The Past. No Media to rely upon. They Suck.

So sad, yet so true brother.

Living overseas, i could knock the balls off an asian bull by singing, "and I'm proud to be an american where at least i know i'm free..." this one rocks my soul.

On the other hand, i have to search for my own balls at times like these when the truth hits the floor so hard, like the last bolt of sunshine hits the mountain -- i have to ask myself, "When will repeated history ever cease?"

US Blues, US Blues...

God Bless America - This Land Is Your Land.
